Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their experienced engineering team and support a range of innovative design projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
- Reverse engineer and measure existing machine parts, assemblies, and consumables
- Design special-purpose machinery, jigs, fixtures, and automation systems
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated technical documentation
- Carry out occasional customer site visits and surveys
- Support design for manufacture and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Raise purchase orders for specialist materials and components
- Maintain accurate CAD and MRP records throughout project lifecycles
Skills Required
- Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or Degree)
- Experience using SolidWorks within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to interpret legacy 2D drawings and develop concepts from minimal briefs
- Experience designing special-purpose machinery
