An established engineering manufacturer is seeking a General / Production Manager to oversee daily activities, drive performance, and support ongoing projects and proposals. This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist organisation operating within the energy and heavy engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will bring both strong leadership capability and hands-on technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, including production, repair work, and engineering activities.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality performance.
- Implement robust processes, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide hands-on engineering input across production, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Ensure full compliance with industry standards, regulations, and technical specifications.
- Review technical drawings, documentation, and work packages for accuracy and feasibility.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to scope new projects, define technical requirements, and support resource and timeline estimations.
Operational Oversight

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Production Engineer, Operations Manager, or similar role within engineering, industrial boiler, or heavy industry environments.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven leadership skills in a site-based environment.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting commercial proposals or tender submissions.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, pressure systems, or manufacturing processes.
