We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support existing product lifecycle management and new product introduction (NPI) projects. The role involves delivering robust, manufacturable designs across low to high-volume production while contributing to continuous improvement and cross-functional engineering activity.
Job Responsibilities
- Support existing product lifecycle, including cost reduction and issue resolution
- Contribute to NPI and client projects with innovative design solutions
- Produce detailed designs, drawings (GA's), BOMs, and technical documentation
- Design for manufacture (DfM) with focus on cost, performance, and scalability
- Support validation activities including calculations and engineering reports
- Work with cross-functional teams (production, operations, quality)
- Support test equipment design and product validation
- Carry out metrology and CMM inspection of components
- Contribute to continuous improvement and change management activities
Skill Required
- Strong SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience
- Experience with castings, injection mouldings, machined parts, and assemblies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design best practice
- Knowledge of metrology and CMM inspection
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
