Sapien are looking for a Procurement Manager to join a UK-based advanced engineering and technology company developing next-generation electric and hybrid mobility solutions. This would be a great step for an individual around the Clapham area who would like to take their next step as a Procurement Manager and play a key role in supporting the delivery of innovative vehicle programmes and helping scale the business.

The Role

Working closely with leadership and engineering teams, you will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier management and purchasing operations, ensuring the business has the right partners, processes and supply chain capabilities in place to support growth. Please note that this is a fully office-based role, requiring attendance on-site five days per week. Candidates must therefore be within a reasonable commuting distance of the Clapham area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement and purchasing processes and systems.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance and commercial agreements.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve cost, quality and delivery objectives.
  • Oversee purchasing activities, inventory controls and supplier performance.
  • Support programme delivery by ensuring materials and services are available to meet project requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and operational teams to support business growth and product development.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement and supply chain activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management within automotive, aerospace, advanced engineering or a related sector.
  • Strong experience negotiating contracts, supplier agreements and commercial terms.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and deliver against cost, quality and schedule targets.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and results-driven.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing and evolving business environment.
