An established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced General Manager / Production Engineer to oversee site operations, support project delivery, and contribute to both technical and commercial activities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership and engineering expertise, ideally within industrial boilers, energy, or heavy engineering sectors.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, including production, repair, and engineering activities
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery
- Provide hands-on engineering support across production, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure accuracy
- Support project scoping, proposals, and resource planning
- Manage production schedules, workflow, and quality assurance
- Promote and maintain strong health, safety, and environmental standards
Skills Required
- Experience in a General Manager, Production Engineer, Operations Manager, or similar role within engineering or heavy industry
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
