Job Description

Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Huntingdon

Salary: £45,000 (depending on experience)

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join an industry leading food production line company. To help maximise the performance of customers’ equipment and contribute to our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design 3D parts and assemblies in SolidWorks, create manufacturing drawing packs (BOMs, laser profiles, works orders)
  • Conduct Design Risk Assessments and create 3D block layouts
  • Use AutoCAD to create and modify 2D drawings
  • Participate in design reviews, site visits, and customer liaison for approvals
  • Work with project teams to meet design timelines and standards
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and QHS to ensure designs meet quality specifications

  • Degree in engineering or relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D)
  • Experience in design engineering within a fabrication environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and solution-focused mindset
