Who You’ll Become

The Account Executive's primary responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing new business to existing and net new customers. The Account Executive empowers our customers to achieve their full potential by understanding their strategy, unique business goals, and desired outcomes, thereby driving cloud revenue growth through dedicated sales efforts focused on solving business challenges and positioning value through our solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Successfully complete the 10‑month learn‑apply program, which includes classroom phases and field phases with your sales team, enhancing your support in the role and serving a critical customer‑facing function within the Customer Success Board Area.
  • Immerse yourself in multi‑dimensional, experiential learning focusing on digital transformation, global intelligence, human skills, business and technology acumen, solution/industry knowledge, and strategy/tools/process.
  • Learn how to drive value across the customer lifecycle through solution adoption and ongoing renewals that foster account expansion.
  • Receive onboarding in your local market with on‑the‑job training and mentoring by a Senior Account Executive in the field; you will work both behind the scenes and directly with customers.
  • After successful completion, transition into a direct customer‑facing sales role in your market with continued mentoring and coaching.
  • Sales roles in scope include Account Executive (AE) and Solution Sales Executive (SSE); SSE focus areas include SAP Finance & Spend Management, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Supply Chain Management, SAP Customer Experience, SAP Business Transformation Management, and SAP Business Technology Platform & SAP Business Data Cloud.

What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a quota‑carrying sales environment in a technology company or significant exposure to business processes.
  • Experience generating opportunities, qualifying leads, and managing sales pipelines across a defined territory with a proven record of building customer relationships and articulating value propositions.
  • A cooperative, productive approach to working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Strong ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing environments, and apply knowledge to deliver results.
  • Understanding of AI fundamentals, uses, and ethics to identify business problems solvable with AI.
  • Strong business acumen including demonstrated knowledge of business processes and/or industries.
  • Proficiency in English to engage with our global and local network.
  • Curious, agile mindset with a passion for learning and resilience to adapt in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

About SAP Academy for Customer Success

The program offers a three‑year journey that drives accountability and enhances productivity, enabling graduates to make a quick impact in customer‑facing roles while fostering career longevity and leadership potential.

Program Structure & Logistics

The Academy includes intensive on‑the‑job training, field trips, and a practical immersive component. The immersive portion involves spending about four weeks across two trips, primarily in San Ramon, California, to provide hands‑on learning and networking. Participants are expected to be fully engaged during critical phases, so vacation is not approved during those times.

Work Environment

Hybrid work setup of three days a week in the office or on‑site with customers or partners, following country‑specific guidelines. SAP employees can choose a mix of office and remote work as permitted.
