GSI members develop, mature, drive, structure, negotiate and execute deals to maximize revenue and revenue quality and revenue predictability for SAP. The team ensures that these deals align to SAP’s and the customers’ long‑term, strategic goals by creating healthy commercial foundations for ongoing account relationships.
From sales/commercial strategy through execution (with a key focus on deal strategy, deal structuring, negotiation, and deal closure), GSI works directly with customers, leveraging internal and external resources to develop and manage opportunities toward a mutually agreeable outcome. GSI helps to identify, create, and apply local and global best practices based on broad customer experiences and competitive insights, to continually improve deal execution.
In addition to primary customer‑facing activities, the GSI organization provides enablement to field sales and to sales management by sharing local and global best practices and other experiences to improve deal execution. GSI members act as trusted advisors to all levels of sales, including sales management, executives, and the Board, and can act as a liaison on strategic projects and deals with Board areas.
The GSI organization provides feedback to help inform business rules, global commercial policy and programs based on large, complex deal experiences and is involved with various global initiatives. Cross‑collaboration within GSI is paramount to maximize business impact globally and regionally, and to put the holistic needs of SAP first without favor or bias to a country, market unit, region, or individual.
