Purpose
The Assessment Expert leads the strategic direction, governance, and continuous evolution of SAP's enterprise assessment portfolio. This role ensures that assessment practices, methodologies, and insights enable high-quality talent identification, succession planning, leadership development, and high potential decisions across SAP.
Working across Leadership Development, Succession, Talent Review & Identification, P&C BPs, business leaders, and external partners, the Assessment Expert defines enterprise assessment standards, stewards strategic vendor partnerships, and ensures assessment insights are integrated into SAP's Talent Engine (SAP's talent strategy).
What you'll do include but are not limited to:
- Define and continuously evolve SAP's enterprise leadership assessment strategy, governance, methodologies, and operating model.
- Own strategic partnerships with external assessment providers, including vendor management, commercial oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and roadmap planning.
- Design and continuously improve assessment approaches supporting leadership selection, succession planning, leadership development, and High Potential identification.
- Partner closely with Talent Review & Identification to define talent segmentation, nomination criteria, calibration approaches, and assessment methodologies supporting High Potential programs.
- Translate assessment data into actionable insights that inform talent reviews, succession discussions, leadership development investments, and executive decision-making.
- Ensure assessment practices operate with the highest standards of quality, ethics, governance, and data privacy.
- Drive continuous innovation by leveraging AI, analytics, participant feedback, and emerging assessment practices to improve decision quality and business impact.

- Integration with Succession & Development Plans: Connects assessment insights with succession, talent identification, and leadership development decisions.
- Stakeholder Management: Trusted advisor to senior leaders, PC BPs, Talent Review teams, and external partners.
- Vendor Management & Partner Coordination: Leads strategic vendor relationships, commercial discussions, and portfolio planning.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Translates complex assessment data into meaningful insights for executive decision-making.
