Purpose and Objectives
RISE with SAP brings together the solutions and services our customers need for a true business transformation, in one package, in the way that works best for them. Transformation is a journey, so RISE with SAP allows customers to continually transform – with SAP alongside them during every step of the way.
RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition is a key deployment option for cloud transformation. It provides a comprehensive cloud infrastructure and managed service offerings to customers as part of SAP’s Cloud Strategy, enabling customers to safeguard their existing SAP ERP investment while gaining flexibility to tailor the software to their needs.
Under RISE with SAP, customers can run SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications in a managed private cloud environment in SAP datacenters, IaaS hyperscalers, SAP Premium Suppliers, or in customers’ own datacenters. SAP has strategic partnerships with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to offer maximum choice for private cloud deployment.
The Global Cloud Advisory Team within SAP Enterprise Cloud Services seeks motivated, customer-focused members to strengthen the Cloud Architecture & Advisory team (CAA) in EMEA. The Cloud Architect Advisor works primarily in pre-sales as a subject matter expert, serving as the main technical contact for private cloud deployment from a customer perspective and coordinating with internal teams to prepare customers for cloud success under RISE with SAP.
Expectations and Tasks
This is a customer-facing role supporting sales throughout the cloud deal lifecycle. Key tasks include:
- Present detailed technical and operational aspects of the RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition offering and related managed services (to CIOs, IT managers, data center managers, and SAP Technology staff).
- Present technical requirements and value proposition for SAP private cloud on SAP Data Centers, Premium Suppliers, and hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Conduct technical assessment workshops with customers to define future cloud architecture and migration roadmaps with partners, System Integrators, or SAP Professional Services.
- Guide customers on non-functional capabilities such as Business Continuity, Cybersecurity & Compliance, Networking, Technical Operations, and service consumption.
- Work on pricing using tools such as Quote Tool and Configurator.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success board to generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams.
- Own technical discussions with the customer and orchestrate experts from SAP Enterprise Cloud Services delivery as needed.
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or Business Administration from an accredited university.
- High proficiency in customer communications and presentations.
- High proficiency in SAP product portfolio, offerings, and industry solutions.
- Good understanding of SAP solutions, releases, platform interdependencies, and cloud operational aspects.
- Good understanding of platform stacks (storage, virtualization, hardware, networks).
- Good understanding of the technical capabilities of at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ability and willingness to be part of a global team of Cloud Architects.
- Willingness to undertake customer-related travel on short notice.
- English fluency is required; additional languages are an asset.
Work Experience
- 8+ years of customer-facing SAP consulting experience.
- 8+ years of solution design, enterprise architecture, and/or SAP implementation experience.
- Experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP BTP, IaaS providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), SAP Premium Suppliers and/or data centers is advantageous.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP Application Lifecycle Management and/or SAP Operations is an advantage.
- ITSM, Service Design & Delivery experience is an advantage.
- SAP HANA and S/4HANA skills are an advantage.
