The Role
We are seeking a curious, hands-on, and tech-savvy individual to join our dynamic global team as a Senior or Lead Solution Manager. In this role, you will work at the intersection of business and AI technology: identifying opportunities, shaping AI-enabled use cases, and driving implementation within (core) banking processes like accounts, lending, and payments. You will primarily work with senior business and product stakeholders and with technical teams (AI engineers, architects, developers), understanding business needs, deriving requirements and translating them into business and technical designs. Success in this role requires hands-on experience and strong knowledge of current (Gen-) AI technologies and methods, and a clear understanding of how AI can create business value in the banking industry. In addition, you should have a basic understanding of IT architectures (ideally incl. SAP) and be able to apply it to the banking industry, enabling you to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate business requirements into solution concepts. You will be part of a cross-functional, international team that is closely aligned with our customers, as we are building solutions together with them. Communication, collaboration, and flexibility are key. Remote work is fully supported, with access to SAP Fioneer offices in multiple major cities if preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities for AI-based innovation for (core) banking processes across accounts, deposits, lending, and payments
- Gather, structure, and prioritize both business and technical requirements for AI use cases, ensuring alignment with customer value and operational feasibility
- Translate business goals into technical requirements and solution designs, collaborating closely with AI specialists and core banking teams
- Take hands-on ownership in configuring AI models, designing prompts, and applying best practices in prompt engineering to deliver real, usable outputs
- Create and run solution demos, build prototypes and advance them into standard enhancements, ensuring usability, business impact, and user adoption
- Lead workshops and facilitate collaborative working sessions with cross-functional teams and customers, bridging the gap between business expectations and technical execution
- Act as a strong communicator and connector between business and technical experts
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business or Technology Analyst, Consultant, Product Owner, or in a similar hybrid role — ideally within banking or financial services (experience outside FS is also welcome if paired with relevant AI expertise)
- Hands-on experience with AI-related solutions and/or innovation initiatives, including practical involvement in AI model configuration, prompt engineering, data interaction, and working closely with development teams — you should be comfortable navigating technical concepts and contributing to solution design
- Ideally, a solid understanding of core banking processes, such as accounts, lending, deposits, and payments
- Familiarity with banking system landscapes and architecture is a plus (SAP Fioneer Core Banking systems experience being a strong plus, as is related experience with other SAP systems)
- Strong business acumen: capable of linking technology and AI capabilities to concrete business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills; confident, engaging with both business leaders and technical teams
- Team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced, global team
- Fluent in spoken and written English; German language skills are a plus
- Adaptable and self-driven, with a flexible mindset and a passion for innovation
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry on an incredibly ambitious project to shape the ever-evolving financial sector. This is an environment where you can have it all - the agility, enthusiasm and dynamism of a start-up, combined with the established expertise, solid market presence and extensive customer network of a more established organization. At SAP Fioneer, you will benefit from a flexible work environment that encourages creativity and encourages you to think outside the box, bring new ideas to the table, and challenge the status quo. You will become part of a diverse and global team that we are proud of and are constantly growing and reinventing. As an employee, you can chart your career path and take advantage of competitive compensation packages and progression opportunities based on merit. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes occupational pension provisions, support for health and wellbeing, various mobility options like bike leasing and transportation allowances, as well as additional perks such as celebration rewards, meal programs, jubilee recognition, and relocation reimbursement.
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit.
