They are looking for a skilled and confident SEND HLTA to lead a small KS2 class of four pupils, each with individual needs and bespoke learning plans. The school are seeking a confident, capable and nurturing SEND HLTA to take responsibility for a group of four KS2 learners. All pupils have Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and require a structured, consistent routine with targeted interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading teaching and learning for the small group with support from the SENCO
  • Delivering personalised learning programmes and structured interventions
  • Working closely with external agencies and inclusion specialists
  • Supporting behaviour regulation using positive, restorative approaches
  • Running daily routines, visuals, timetables and sensory breaks
  • Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers
  • Managing support staff in the room, ensuring consistency and clarity

This is a role for someone confident in their practice, comfortable leading learning, and ready to help build a new SEND base from day one.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced HLTA, SEND Practitioner or highly skilled TA
  • Confident managing a small class independently
  • Knowledgeable about a range of SEND needs (ASD, SEMH, speech & language)
  • Calm, consistent and strong on behaviour routines
  • Able to differentiate learning and deliver structured interventions
  • Great at building relationships with parents, staff and pupils
  • Reflective, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education

Candidates with experience in specialist provisions, nurture groups, resource bases or PRU / SEND settings are especially encouraged to apply.
