An excellent primary school in Camden is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism on a one-to-one basis. The pupil is bright and capable but requires support with communication, emotional regulation, transitions, and maintaining engagement throughout the school day. The school is looking for a calm, consistent, and proactive individual who can build a positive relationship and help the child thrive both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with Autism.
- Be confident implementing strategies recommended by outside agencies.
- Support the pupil both in class and during less structured times.
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents.
- Have a patient and nurturing approach.
- Experience with Autism and communication strategies would be highly desirable.
