A welcoming and supportive one-form entry primary school based in Islington is looking to appoint an experienced Reception Teacher to join their EYFS team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and creative EYFS practitioner who is committed to delivering engaging learning experiences and supporting children through the early stages of their education.

Reception Teacher - The Role:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 08:30am - 4:00pm
  • September 2026 start
  • Inner London MPS 1-6 .21 PAYE per day
  • Full class teacher responsibilities
  • Interviews and trial days taking place soon

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced Primary Teacher with QTS (ECTs will not be considered)
  • Have strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Curriculum
  • Be confident delivering high-quality phonics teaching
  • Create engaging, creative and stimulating lesson plans that inspire young learners
  • Be passionate about supporting children's development and successful transition into KS1
  • Have strong behaviour management and assessment skills
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the EYFS framework
  • Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
  • Supporting children's early literacy, numeracy and communication development
  • Delivering high-quality phonics sessions and early reading support
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress across all areas of learning
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Organising creative, play-based and structured learning opportunities
  • Working closely with parents, carers and colleagues to support pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Preparing pupils for a smooth and positive transition into Year 1
