This is a varied position that sits at the heart of the school community. You will work closely with pupils, staff and families to support children's wellbeing whilst also delivering high-quality teaching across the school.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Pastoral Leadership
    • Supporting pupils experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges
    • Building positive relationships with children and families
    • Working closely with senior leaders and external agencies where required
    • Supporting attendance, wellbeing and engagement initiatives
    • Acting as a trusted adult for vulnerable pupils
  • Academic Intervention
    • Delivering targeted interventions in English and Mathematics
    • Supporting pupils who require additional academic support
    • Monitoring progress and helping close attainment gaps
    • Working with teachers to identify pupils requiring intervention
  • PPA Teaching
    • Delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 2
    • Covering teacher PPA time
    • Maintaining excellent standards of teaching and learning
    • Supporting pupils across a range of year groups

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has successful primary teaching experience
  • Is passionate about pupil wellbeing and inclusion
  • Has strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • Can deliver effective interventions to accelerate progress
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and families
  • Is resilient, compassionate and proactive
  • Believes every child can succeed with the right support
  • Experience in pastoral, inclusion, SEND or safeguarding‑related roles would be advantageous but is not essential
