Nursery Teaching Assistant
Location: Kennington, Southwark
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP – at least July 2025
Pay: 55 PAYE
Are you experienced in working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a vibrant Primary School in Kennington, Southwark, for a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in their Nursery class. This is a part-time role, working from 8AM to 12PM, Monday to Friday, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working part time and helping children thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Nursery Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a child in the Nursery, assisting with their daily activities and educational development
- Assist with classroom routines and activities, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Build strong relationships with the child, supporting their confidence and independence
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure the child\\\’s needs are met
- Observe and report on the child\\\’s progress to ensure their learning objectives are being met
Nursery Teaching Assistant Criteria:
- Experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential
- Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting young learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
