Overview
We are working in partnership with a 2‑form entry Catholic infant school that is seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Key Stage 2 practitioner to take on a Year 6 class within a supportive school environment that places strong emphasis on both academic achievement and pastoral care. The role will initially be offered as a 1‑year contract through the agency, with an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff following successful completion of the year.

Role
The school is seeking a confident Year 6 Teacher who can take full responsibility for a class and deliver high‑quality teaching across the KS2 curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging, well‑structured lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
- Taking full responsibility for class teaching, planning, marking and assessment
- Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where required
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement
- Creating a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment
- Preparing pupils effectively for transition to secondary school
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching Year 6 (essential)
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan, assess and differentiate effectively
- A proactive, positive and committed approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for primary education and pupil progress
