Immediate Start Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established primary school seeking an experienced Senior School Administrative Officer to join their administration team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive administrator to play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy school office. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, staff, pupils, parents, and external stakeholders, ensuring the efficient operation of school systems and procedures.

Location: Islington

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay: £17-18 per hour PAYE

Contract: Long-term position with immediate start continuing into September 2026.

The Role: The Senior School Administrative Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective administration of the school and ensuring that all office functions operate smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the reception area and acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and external agencies
  • Handling telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and ensuring school databases remain up to date
  • Managing admissions, attendance, pupil transfers, and leavers/joiners processes
  • Producing reports, letters, correspondence, and administrative documentation
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks, diary management, and meeting coordination
  • Managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries within agreed timescales
  • Assisting with school census returns and pupil data administration
  • Maintaining confidential records in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
  • Liaising with local authorities, external agencies, and service providers
  • Supporting the organisation of school events, educational visits, and parent communications
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and procedures

About You: The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within a school administration role
  • Possess strong working knowledge of Arbor MIS (essential)
  • Have experience managing pupil data and maintaining accurate records
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative systems
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
