We are looking for an experienced Primary School Teacher with strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum, and an excellent understanding of how to support Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and reduce behaviours of concern.
The school works using a trauma informed approach through its core values of belonging, determination and opportunity. This SANZA Teaching Agency client is a Primary Referral Unit (PRU) which provides a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream school due to SEMH needs or because they have been permanently excluded from school.
The school supports the SEMH and academic needs of highly vulnerable children to help them make accelerated progress and prepare successfully for their next phase of education. They provide a stimulating, secure and supportive learning environment where every pupil is given a positive experience of school.
The Class Teacher's role is to:
- Engage and motivate groups of primary-aged children with SEMH needs
- Plan and teach stimulating and challenging lessons using flexible and creative approaches
- Support pupils to make progress in their social, emotional and academic development
- Assess, plan for and monitor children's learning needs
- Collaborate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team
- Provide reports on children's attainment and progress in line with school policies
- Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues
- Uphold the Teachers' Standards and duty of care at all times
