Contract: Full Academic Year (September 2026 - July 2027)

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm

Daily Rate: £115 - £125 per day PAYE

SANZA Teaching Agency are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey to recruit a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for the 2026/27 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HLTA who is confident working across the full primary age range, from Reception through to Year 6, and is comfortable covering classes when required. The school is looking for someone adaptable, proactive and keen to further develop their teaching skills within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality support across the school, working flexibly from Reception to Year 6 depending on need.
  • Covering whole classes in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons confidently across a range of year groups.
  • Supporting teaching and learning in the classroom, adapting activities to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and small group work to support pupil progress and close learning gaps.
  • Managing behaviour effectively to maintain a positive, calm and productive learning environment.
  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure continuity and consistency in learning.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar role, with confidence covering classes.
  • Experience working across the primary age range, including both EYFS and KS2.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage pupils across different year groups.
  • A proactive, flexible and team-focused approach.
  • A genuine passion for developing their teaching practice and supporting pupils' learning and development.
