A vibrant and supportive primary school based in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to achieve both academically and socially within a positive and inclusive school environment.
KS2 Teaching Assistant - The Role
- Full‑time position, Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm
- Start date: September 2026 or sooner
- Long‑term role until July 2027
- Supporting across KS2 classrooms
- General classroom support role with additional support for pupils with SEND and mixed abilities
The ideal candidate will
- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Have strong experience supporting KS2 pupils
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs
- Be proactive, adaptable and confident supporting mixed‑ability learners
- Have a passion for motivating and supporting children to reach their full potential
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
Main responsibilities will include
- Supporting pupils across KS2 during lessons and independent learning activities
- Delivering targeted interventions in Maths, Literacy and phonics where required
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
- Helping to adapt learning activities to meet the needs of mixed‑ability learners
- Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and confidence within the classroom
- Supporting the Class Teacher with classroom preparation and organisation
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for all children
