The Role - Early Years Practitioner/EYFS TA Position: Early Years Educator / EYFS Teaching Assistant Location: Islington, North London Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time maternity cover until at least July 2027 Working Days: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (4:30pm finish on Mondays for staff training) Pay: £100-£120 per day PAYE, depending on experience and qualifications Age Group: EYFS - Children aged 3-5 years Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative and stimulating EYFS activities. Work with children aged 3-5 years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing. Encourage learning through play, exploration and continuous provision. Provide individual and small-group support, adapting activities to meet children's needs. Support children's early communication, language, literacy, numeracy and social development. Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure children make excellent progress. The Ideal Candidate Has strong experience working within EYFS, ideally in a Nursery or Reception classroom. Ideally holds a CACHE Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent, although highly experienced EYFS practitioners without this qualification are encouraged to apply. Has a good understanding of the EYFS framework and learning through play. Is proactive, enthusiastic, nurturing and confident supporting young children.
