SANZA Teaching Agency are proud to support a great 2-form entry primary school in the borough of Barking & Dagenham. They are seeking a higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) to lead a small SEN class from September 2026!

The role:

  • Higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) to lead a small SEN class of 7 students in the class, all in year 1.
  • 1x LSA in the class for support.
  • The students are well-behaved and not violent/challenging; however, they do have moderate/complex SEN needs. Most are non-verbal currently.
  • The role is full-time.
  • It is a 1-year fixed-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027.
  • The school is a short walk from Dagenham Heathway (District Line) station.

Further information:

  • Most of the planning/work/resources will be done for you by the SENCO and SEN teacher.
  • You will need to confidently deliver the lessons each day.
  • You will need to be confident to direct the class LSA.
  • The lessons will be very activity/intervention/play-based.
  • You will also have the freedom to create your own lessons and resources if you wish.

About you:

  • You will need to have long-term SEN experience to be considered for this role and be confident in leading/teaching a small class of SEN students.
