Teaching Assistant – Special Needs/SEN

Barking & Dagenham

SANZA Teaching Agency are thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity to join a diverse, enriching, values-driven primary school in Barking & Dagenham. They are seeking a teaching assistant to work across the school, from nursery to year 6.

Responsibilities

  • You will support various students across the year groups with different needs, such as Autism, behavioural difficulties, speech, language and communication problems, EAL, and other complex needs.
  • You will work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the day delivering targeted intervention activities.

About you / Qualifications

  • Must have experience as a teaching assistant/learning support assistant
  • Must have experience supporting children with special needs
  • Must have great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have an understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
  • Must be empathetic, patient and have a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
