A warm, community-focused primary school in Islington is seeking an inspiring and experienced Reception Class Teacher to join their Early Years team from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives in EYFS and is committed to giving children the very best start to their learning journey. Important: This role is for an experienced Teacher only. ECTs are not being considered at this time.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging EYFS lessons aligned with the Early Years Framework.
- Create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, and academic development.
- Use continuous provision and play-based learning effectively to meet pupils' developmental needs.
- Track progress through high-quality observations and accurate assessment using EYFS frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support smooth transitions and consistent communication.
- Work collaboratively with EYFS staff to contribute to curriculum planning and whole-phase development.
- Support early phonics learning, communication and language, and early maths skills.
- Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing, and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
