SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working with a specialist school in Camden that is looking to appoint an outstanding SEN Class Teacher for on a maternity cover contract. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a small group of just 7 pupils aged 4-7 (Reception to Year 2), supporting their early learning, communication, independence and social development. The school is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and creative teacher who can make learning exciting, build trusting relationships and provide the specialist support that young children with Autism need to flourish. The Role: Take responsibility for teaching and learning within a small class of 7 pupils. Deliver engaging, play-based and highly differentiated learning experiences. Support early communication, language, social interaction and independence. Use specialist communication systems such as Makaton and aided language boards. Adapt learning to meet the individual needs and developmental stages of each child. Work closely with teaching assistants, parents and the wider school team. Create a positive, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.The Ideal Candidate: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has experience teaching children with Autism and additional learning needs. Understands early childhood development and the EYFS/KS1 curriculum. Has experience or knowledge of Makaton, PECS or other alternative communication approaches. Is creative, patient, nurturing and passionate about SEN education. Can build strong relationships with parents and colleagues.Why This Role?
