Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September start.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school while working closely with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons when required, provide targeted interventions and work closely with pupils who require additional support, particularly those with SEND and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Delivering high-quality lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
  • Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement individual support plans.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Helping to create an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Supporting the wider life of this vibrant and creative school community.

About You

The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children and committed to helping every pupil achieve their very best.

You will have

  • Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or experienced Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
  • Significant experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Confidence delivering lessons and managing whole classes.
  • A nurturing, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education.
