This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and friendly school where you'll play an important role in ensuring pupils enjoy a safe, happy and well-organised lunchtime. The school is known for its positive ethos, supportive staff team and commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Whether you're an experienced Lunchtime Supervisor or someone looking to gain experience in a school setting, this role offers the chance to make a genuine impact on pupils' daily school experience while becoming part of a caring and dedicated team.

About the Role

Lunchtime is an important part of every child's school day, and you'll help ensure it is safe, enjoyable and well supervised. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you'll oversee pupils in the dining hall and playground, encourage positive interactions and support children in developing confidence, independence and good social skills.

Your duties will include:

  • Supervising children during lunchtime, both inside the school and outdoors.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils resolve minor disagreements.
  • Supporting younger pupils during mealtimes where required.
  • Promoting safe and inclusive play during lunch breaks.
  • Ensuring pupils remain safe and well cared for throughout the lunchtime period.
  • Administering basic first aid where appropriate and reporting any incidents.
  • Helping to maintain a calm, organised and welcoming lunchtime environment.
  • Following the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with children and can build positive relationships quickly. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Friendly, approachable and reliable.
  • Calm under pressure with a patient and caring nature.
  • Confident communicating with both children and adults.
  • Able to encourage positive behaviour in a fair and consistent way.
  • A strong team player who is happy to get involved in school life.
  • Passionate about supporting children's wellbeing and development.

Previous experience within a school, nursery, childcare setting, holiday club, youth organisation or sports coaching environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children is desirable.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • The right to work in the UK.
