SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and ambitious primary school in North West London to recruit an exceptional Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle or senior leader who is passionate about raising standards, developing staff and ensuring every child achieves their full potential.

Working alongside an inspirational Headteacher and experienced leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the school while leading teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.

The Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will provide strategic leadership across Years 3-6, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning and pupil outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6).
  • Driving improvements in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing teachers across the phase.
  • Leading pupil progress meetings and using assessment data to raise attainment.
  • Supporting curriculum development across Key Stage 2.
  • Monitoring teaching through observations, learning walks and book scrutinies.
  • Leading behaviour and pastoral support within the phase.
  • Working closely with SEND, Inclusion and wider leadership teams to ensure excellent outcomes for every child.
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement planning and school self-evaluation.
  • Developing future leaders through coaching and professional development.
  • Building strong relationships with parents, governors and the wider community.
  • Deputising for senior leaders when required.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced Primary Teacher with substantial Key Stage 2 experience.
  • Have successful experience leading a year group, phase, curriculum area or wider school initiative.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of improving teaching and pupil outcomes.
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with excellent knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Be passionate about staff development and instructional coaching.
  • Be highly organised, resilient and solutions-focused.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Inspire, motivate and support both staff and pupils to achieve excellence.
  • Hold QTS and have experience within a UK primary school.

Previous senior leadership experience is welcomed, although ambitious Phase Leaders, Assistant Phase Leaders and experienced Middle Leaders looking for their first Assistant Headteacher position are encouraged to apply.
