The Role

SANZA are working with a large, well-established primary school in Brent who are seeking a strong and resilient 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to support a Year 5 pupil with SEND. This is not a passive role - the school are looking for someone confident, consistent and calm under pressure, who can provide structured behavioural and emotional support throughout the school day.

You will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with behavioural and social-emotional needs
  • Implement behaviour strategies and follow personalised support plans
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and pastoral team
  • Support emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning
  • Build trust and establish firm but fair boundaries
  • Promote inclusion and academic progress

This role requires someone who is proactive, emotionally intelligent and able to manage challenging behaviour positively and consistently.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs
  • Background as a Behaviour Mentor, TA, Youth Worker or similar
  • Confident, resilient and calm under pressure
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and boundaries
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Available full-time and committed long-term
  • Team Teach or de-escalation training would be advantageous but is not essential.
