Join us as Service Apprentice and take your first step into a rewarding career in engineering. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, curious, and passionate about developing their skills within the heavy plant industry. No previous experience is required, just a willingness to learn, work hard, and grow within a team of experienced professionals.
You must have a driving license and to have held this for a minimum of 1 year. We offer a 2 year Apprenticeship, depending on recognised prior learning, where you will be supported to work alongside our workshop engineers to carry out planned service work only. Your apprenticeship will focus exclusively on machine servicing and preventative maintenance activities.
You will attend training blocks at 2 years, leading to an SVQ Level 2 SCQF 5 Plant Mechanic qualification. The training is carried out at NCCS, Inchinnan. Some of the course work is contracted out to West College Scotland Paisley. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours for your apprenticeship standard. These blocks can be 1, 2, 4 or 6 weeks long. You will then apply those new knowledge and skills in your branch workplace. Apprenticeship duration can be reduced for applicants with recognised prior learning in the industry sector. This will be determined during the initial assessment process.
