Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Santos + Co. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality standards, and leading the team by example. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef looking to grow within a creative and passionate kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and service.
  • Assist in menu development, preparation, and execution using seasonal, high-quality ingredients.
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate junior kitchen staff.
  • Step into a leadership role during service and in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.
  • Work collaboratively with management to enhance the overall dining experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
  • Strong culinary skills with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to support and guide a kitchen team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Passion for high-quality food and fresh ingredients.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
