Role Description

This is an on-site, contract Prep Cook role based in London. The Prep Cook will support daily kitchen operations by washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients for schiacciata sandwiches and other menu items. Responsibilities include:

  • Following recipes and portioning guidelines
  • Preparing basic sauces and fillings
  • Assisting with bread handling and baking tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, organized workstation
  • Proper food storage, labelling, and rotation
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Food Preparation and Cooking, with the ability to follow recipes and portion standards consistently
  • Experience or interest in Baking, especially working with bread or dough, is highly beneficial
  • Effective Communication skills to coordinate with chefs and front-of-house staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of the Food & Beverage industry, including basic food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices
  • Previous experience as a prep cook, commis chef, or in a similar kitchen role preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, handle a fast-paced workload, and maintain attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and peak service times
  • Food safety or hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain one) is an advantage
