In this high profile, interim role within the Chief Fulfilment & Resilience Office, you’ll be ensuring that Operational Resilience arrangements are being managed in accordance with the Operational Risk and Resilience Framework and Standards. This will include the remediation of vulnerabilities through ongoing assessments and bringing together requirements to protect the recovery of important business services.

You’ll focus on technology risks and play an integral role in a key regulatory programme for Santander UK. You’ll work with a broad range of senior stakeholders to manage and support the compliance, regulatory and risk management agenda for the Bank.

You’ll ensure that upcoming changes are understood and successfully implemented, and that communication and education is delivered across all levels. You will be a subject matter expert within the organisation and contribute to senior internal governance forums and will make risk related decisions on behalf of the senior management team.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Using specialist knowledge of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity to identify service risks and propose workable solutions to mitigate or reduce resilience risks
  • Leading the proactive identification, assessment, management and reporting of technology risks
  • Providing actionable advice on current and emerging issues and supporting with technical resilience and continuity input
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders and providing robust challenge on the implementation of the Operational Resilience Framework and Standard
  • Contributing to senior internal governance forums and making risk-related decisions on behalf of the senior management team
  • Working collaboratively, sharing learning and best practices to contribute to overall team effectiveness

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in an Operational Resilience role within Financial Services
  • Expert knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory guidance for Operational Resilience Management
  • Subject matter expertise in technology infrastructure and architecture
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple teams and seniorities
  • Experience of reviewing governance and control frameworks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

What else you need to know:

Our preferred location for this 12-month fixed-term contract is Milton Keynes, but we’ll also consider locating the role in Glasgow, Bradford or Sheffield.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

How we’ll reward you.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your contract duration.

  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
  • £6,000 car allowance per year.
