THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Operations & Control Team is looking for a Controls Testing Risk Assurance Consultant based out of either Milton Keynes, Bradford or Glasgow but can be considered as alternative sites.

This role is on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

The Operations & Control team is a line 1 Controls Function and is responsible for defining and maintaining the Provision 29 Independent Testing Methodology and the Controls Assurance Testing Procedure. The Controls Testing Risk Assurance Consultant is responsible for performing the controls assurance, working with Control Owners, Operators and Risk Partners to ensure compliance with this standard.

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

• Execute Line 1 controls assurance providing an assessment of Design Adequacy and Performance Effectiveness of material controls.
• Engage with Control Owners, Control Operators, Risk Partners and Internal Audit colleagues.
• Understand the inherent risk(s) being mitigated by the control(s) being assured and collation of supporting evidence from Control Owner(s).
• Communicate controls assurance outcomes and findings.
• Communicate findings identified for weak-rated controls, remediation actions should be monitored and tracked.
• Perform desktop reviews for controls remediated and provide feedback.

Professional Experience:

• Relevant professional experience (Preferred)

Hard Skills:

• Experience assessing control design and operating effectiveness (Preferred)
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and control weaknesses (Required)
• Good ability to evaluate the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of evidence (Required)
• High levels of attention to detail and accuracy (Required)

Soft Skills:

• Good professional judgement, independence, and professional scepticism (Preferred)
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills (Preferred)
• Confidence in communicating findings and providing constructive challenge to stakeholders at all levels (Required)
• Solid stakeholder management and relationship-building skills (Required)

Salary Range:

£37,762.00 - £56,642.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
