SCUK Leasing Decision Tree Analyst

Santander Consumer Finance (SCUK) is one of the UK’s Leading Motor Finance companies providing finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom. We are currently looking for a Leasing Decision Tree Analyst to join us in our Redhill, Surrey office working on a hybrid basis working (with at least 3 days a week onsite).
In this role you will manage the credit decision trees used in SCUK’s Leasing portfolio and you will build and make changes when required, to the decision engine, Provenir, that will be part of the Leasing IT system, SASOL. The role will also support project work within SCUK’s Loan portfolio including developing a Limited Company scorecard and decline/refer rule sets.
Responsibilities will include:
- General strategy – to become the focal point for, and super user of the decision engine software, Provenir, and how it interacts with the SASOL contact hire system. Fully incorporate and manage policy changes and new credit strategies within the decision trees and ensure everything is fully tested and extensively documented. This will cover strategies for both private individuals and limited companies
- Analytical strategy – to create SAS programs that analyse the Leasing Decision Tree changes and monitor any newly implemented logic that requires tracking, and to assist other departments with analysing data that may result in changes to the Decision Trees
- Technical knowledge – to Maintain up-to-date awareness of all credit policy rules and Provenir updates
- Stakeholder and Communication – establish a sound working relationship with all areas of the business, especially Leasing and New Business Underwriting, answering any queries on Leasing policy and products, and communicating to stakeholders all relevant policy and decision tree changes
- Insight and continuous improvement – establish an on-going review to continually improve and refine the decision tree logic
- Projects – when required, manage and provide support to Leasing credit projects and day to day activities
- Presenting – presenting on behalf of Leasing at the Default Inquest forums. Supporting management by attending other meetings when required
- R isk – dealing with/escalating identified risks in relation to Leasing risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework
What we’re looking for someone with:
- Previous systems knowledge of Provenir and API architecture
- Previous work experience of using Credit Reference Agencies and their data blocks
- A high standard of Excel skills
- Previous experience of the automotive sales market (desirable – not essential)
- Programming experience in SAS (desirable – not essential)
- A high level of mathematical literacy, i.e. A level in Maths (desirable – not essential)
