THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE The Business Development Team is looking for a Business Development Manager based out of London. The BDM role is an exciting new business position where you will work with the Business Development Director and local relationship teams to drive our Corporate and Commercial banking growth strategy. We are a highly successful team that has been in our UK growth plans for over five years. We are a team of positive, passionate and driven individuals proud of our internal culture and high level colleague engagement scores. The BDM vacancy has arisen due to promotion and proactive succession planning. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Business Development Director to generate and drive new business activity leveraging all routes to market
  • Leveraging new business tools and systems to deepen market penetration and increase contact in the local prospect pools, alongside the Business Development Director
  • Understanding prospect data and targeting opportunities in line with risk and sector models
  • Conceiving and coordinating connectivity and events in collaboration with the Regional Director, Relationship Directors and Product Partners
  • Being highly organised and responsible for calling programmes and creating and managing the Keep in Touch strategy with the Business Development Director
  • Proactively driving engagement of key Marketing and Media collateral and initiatives to support pre pipeline opportunities

Professional Experience

  • Experience or passion for new business origination
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and the capability to influence and persuade others
  • Experience and knowledge of corporate and commercial banking
  • Some experience of financial analysis to assess prospects in line with CCB risk appetite
  • Knowledge of related risks with the ability to identify, assess and manage them appropriately
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at various levels

Hard Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen — deep understanding of corporate banking products, markets and the wider economic environment
  • Digital proficiency — confident use of CRM and workflow tools such as Salesforce, nCino and Office 365 to manage client portfolios and ensure data accuracy
