- Produce the UK Annual Reports, Half Yearly Financial Reports, Q1/Q3 Interims and the QMS with a focus on populating and reviewing the Financial Statements and Risk review, as well as reviewing other key disclosures, working with preparer teams to ensure that all the data complies with IFRS and other UK and EU disclosure requirements, including Sustainability & Responsible Banking matters such as climate risk and ESG.
- Produce the US Annual Reports on Form 20-F, Half Yearly Financial Reports and QMS on Form 6-K working with preparer teams to ensure that all the data complies with US SEC disclosure requirements, including Sustainability & Responsible Banking matters such as climate risk and ESG.
- Work closely with the Technical Accounting team and being able to interpret and implement updates and recommendations to regulatory requirements issued by FRC and DECL.
- Review the accuracy of the electronic linkages, mappings and other elements of the reporting platform used to prepare the statutory documents.
- Review the accounting management judgement papers on a quarterly basis.
- Support the Funding team with debt issuances, including reviews of draft prospectuses, and negotiation of engagement, management representation and comfort letters with external auditors, legal counsel and underwriters.
- Prepare and review the Quarterly Management Statements.
- Identify and implement improvements, efficiencies and innovations to the statutory reporting process.
- Ensure effective operation of internal controls over the statutory reporting process, including for Sarbanes-Oxley Act purposes.
- Manage more junior team members, including part-qualified staff, apprentices, graduates and contractors.
- Support relationships with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop and improve their input into the statutory reporting processes, including:
- Senior management, Directors and Executive Committee
- Other CFO teams
- Other Santander teams, such as Risk, Sustainability, Legal & Corporate Governance
- External stakeholders (such as auditors and legal counsel)
What you’ll bring:
- A qualified statutory accountant (preferably ACCA or ACA) or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience of IFRS, as well as Sustainability & Responsible Banking matters including climate risk and ESG and experience of the UK public company reporting environment
- Excellent writing skills, suitable for inclusion in published documents and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with other teams
- Self-starter, with good attention to detail, persistence, and the ability to organise and manage work to strict deadlines
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Experience of financial services
- Experience of structured reporting, including inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (iXBRL)
- Experience of Wdesk reporting platform
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience .

- This role is based in Milton Keynes

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

How we’ll reward you:
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For part-time / contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your working hours / contract duration.
- Starting salary of £51,942.
- Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
- We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
- £6,000 car allowance per year.
- Company funded individual private medical insurance.
