Commercial Clients is a highly engaged and energetic team that manages relationships with Santander Commercial Banking clients, while also focusing on winning high-quality new business (with turnover up to £25m) and developing these into future Corporate Clients. The team consistently delivers a strong balanced scorecard, performing well across client satisfaction, high value new-to-bank switchers, lending, deposits, and international growth. THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE: Commercial Clients is looking for a Regional Director based out of London, TSQ. This is a key strategic role in our Commercial Clients team, you will work closely with the Head, Commercial Clients to formulate the business strategy in line with CCB strategic goals and growth targets. You will be responsible for recruiting, leading and developing teams of Relationship Directors and Relationship Managers, monitoring the business and competitive environment being proactive in taking actions and driving and supporting the promotion and marketing of the bank in the Region.

  • To deliver sustainable income streams within the Group's risk principles.
  • To strategically manage relationships with certain high-profile clients and key business introducers across the region.
  • Improve and maintain quality of credit submissions through coaching and development.
  • Strategically manage relationships with high priority existing and new customers and key business introducers, extending the depth of their relationship with the Bank.
  • Drive and embed a customer service culture throughout the business Region including customer satisfaction plans and contact strategy.
  • Embed and deepen the market profile of CCB through client and market contacts.

  • Is highly commercially aware with a strategic understanding of banking markets.
  • A considerable number of years' experience in Corporate and Commercial Banking, and broad knowledge of all aspects of this as it relates to all target sectors.
  • Adept at relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills, up to Executive level both internally and externally.
  • Substantial experience in a relationship management environment, as well as significant experience of successfully leading teams.
  • Specific experience in lending to companies within the business segment, and in driving the credit analysis for such deals (advanced level of credit and risk knowledge and skills).

Education:

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting. - (Preferred)
  • Relevant professional banking or finance qualification, such as the Chartered Banker Diploma, ACIB, CFA, or ACCA (or working towards). - (Preferred)
  • Advanced credit and risk analysis training or certification demonstrating sound commercial lending and portfolio management skills. - (Preferred)
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development, including regulatory awareness and leadership capability, aligned with Santander's standards for continuous learning. - (Required)

Hard Skills:

  • Advanced credit and financial analysis - ability to assess risk, structure complex lending solutions, and prepare high-quality credit submissions. (Required)
  • Strong commercial acumen - deep understanding of corporate and commercial banking products, markets, and the wider economic environment. (Required)
  • Digital proficiency - confident use of workflow tools such as Salesforce, nCino, and Office 365 to manage client portfolios and ensure data accuracy. (Required)

Salary Range: £86,400.00 - £129,600.00 per annum (depending on experience). This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.

30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.

£6,000 car allowance per year.
