Home of Project Gluon, a cross-domain IT efficiency programme driving significant BAU savings across the organisation with big targets for 2025, 2026 and beyond. Leading API, repo and Platform strategy, the Global Platform community is driving the adoption of Gluon and a number of API initiatives, including obsolescence remediation.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Managing cross organisation initiatives aligned to Global Platform Delivery. These will vary in size and complexity but will have a technology focus against business requirements.
  • Collaborating with Domain stakeholders on Go To Model (GTM) alignment including convergence and repo / API migration responsibilities (Project API Migration and Gluon).
  • Supporting the rationalisation of the IT BAU spend on Software and SaaS licences across the organisation.
  • Creation of business cases and financial management through portfolio management tooling (Planview).

What you’ll bring:

  • Technical understanding of how APIs work, developer platform systems such as GitHub.
  • Knowledge of how pipeline or workflows work for code deployment across different environments.
  • A broad understanding of change management governance, the inputs required, and the tools used.
  • A high-level understanding of technology within Santander UK ideally gained from technical project delivery.
  • Experience of effective stakeholder engagement across business and technology.
  • An understanding of financial management and a drive to deliver cost savings across the IT BAU estate.

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Knowledge of the CIO Domains, key stakeholders and responsibilities as most tasks will be matrix aligned across these entities.
  • Proactive nature, work with evolving goals and objectives.
  • An understanding of the ‘Go To Model’.

What else you need to know:

This role is based in Milton Keynes. We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles). If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.

How we’ll reward you:

  • As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For part-time / contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your working hours / contract duration.
  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5 years service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
  • £6,000 car allowance per year.
