Capital Reporting is a sub-domain of Enterprise Services within the Chief Information Office of Santander Technology and Operations, providing enterprise-wide systems and support services that help run and transform the bank's IT, data and business capabilities. Specifically, the area looks after the calculation and reporting of Regulatory Capital to PRA and ECB.
THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE: Santander UK/CIO Enterprise Services is looking for an IT Analyst & Solutions Design based out of Milton Keynes. This is an 18 months fixed term contract. We are seeking a passionate IT Analyst to join our team within the Regulatory Capital Engines team sitting under the CIO Enterprise Services. You will play an essential role in this transformation, working with the business and our technology partners to define solutions with detailed functional specifications mapped to technical requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Working with project stakeholders, key business users and other third parties and architects involved to elicit and capture overall scope, approach, and business requirements.
- Creating functional specifications linked to the chosen technical implementation according to best practice in the industry.
- Adding value by challenging the business requirements i.e. what are the gaps in what is stated versus understanding of the overall objective and proposed operating model.
- Championing a test-driven delivery strategy by ensuring that all requirements have clearly defined success criteria.
- Supporting any issue/dependency that is part of the project, ensuring senior management is aware of the issue and that it is progressed, tracked, and escalated where necessary.

- Good understanding of Finance, Capital, and Regulatory Reporting.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team as part of an agile, iterative development process.
- Ability to closely work with the users and iteratively deliver solutions to meet business requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for requirements gathering and writing: specifications, user stories and guides.
- Experience in owning and supporting full lifecycle delivery, including analysis, design development, testing, UAT, implementation and production.
- Practical experience carrying out complex data analysis using SQL, Excel & Word.
- Excellent analytical skills, with an applied practical problem-solving approach.
Education: Degree or Equivalent (Preferred). It would also be nice for you to have:
- Broad technical knowledge with familiarisation of big data, cloud technology.
- Proven ability to manage projects and user testing.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages like Scala, Spark.
- Experience of working in Financial Services.
- A passion for enhancing your knowledge and evidence curiosity in emerging technologies.
