Santander UK is looking for a Data Analytics Engineer based out of Milton Keynes – Unity Place. As our Data team is expanding, we are looking for a passionate Data Analytics Engineer to join us. You’ll support the Data Excellence Team with data analytics for data identified as critical to the bank.   • Work with cloud and data technologies including AWS, Snowflake, Hadoop, SAS, and Power BI to support data processing, analytics, and reporting.
  • Extract, cleanse, transform, and prepare large volumes of data for analytical and reporting purposes.
  • Analyse complex datasets and perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Lead the day-to-day management, processing, and quality assurance of large-scale data.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise data models, reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, meaningful insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritise a pipeline of data and analytics requests in line with business needs and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to design and deliver effective, data-driven solutions.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Data Analytics or Data Engineering. (Required)
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets within cloud-based or enterprise data environments. (Required)
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with experience querying, manipulating, and analysing complex datasets. (Required)
  • Experience with AWS data services, SAS and Hadoop. (Required)
  • Great knowledge of data discovery, data mining, and exploratory data analysis. (Required)
  • Experience in data modelling and reporting. (Required)
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and visualisation tools, particularly Power BI. (Preferred)
  • Experience with Snowflake development and data environments. (Preferred)

Hard Skills

  • Experience working with SAS, Hadoop (Required), Snowflake, and Power BI (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform exploratory data analysis and convert findings into actionable business insights. (Required)
  • Advanced data analysis and interpretation using SQL and other analytical tools. (Required)
  • Excellent understanding of data quality, reporting, and visualisation principles. (Required)
  • Excellent understanding of data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and preparation processes. (Required)
  • Experience developing and maintaining scalable data models and reporting solutions. (Required)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Athena, Glue, and S3. (Required)
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data architectures and analytical platforms. (Required)

Salary Range: £52,459.00 - £78,689.00 per annum (depending on experience). This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
