THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE


Customer Outcomes & Testing is looking for a Customer Risk Insights Risk Specialist based out of either Milton Keynes or Glasgow.


This role is on a fixed term contract for 12 months.


The Customer Risk Insights team helps Santander to meet its obligations under Consumer Duty Outcome testing/monitoring by providing smarter solutions through development and maintenance of Management Information dashboards and reporting. We also complete data led assurance through Customer Understanding Testing Surveys, Customer Insight data and analytics use, for products and services acquired through Santander’s digital and assisted channels, analysing the responses and using data to identify patterns and trends and any potential issues with the products and journeys.


As a Customer Risk Insights Risk Specialist you’ll be focussed on the development of dashboards, reports and data extracts making sure data delivery is automated, effective, efficient, robust and has the necessary supporting controls and documentation in place.


You will get to work in partnership both with teams across Customer Outcomes & Testing and the wider bank, helping to strengthen data quality, and support better outcomes for customers.

  • Working as part of the Customer Risk Insights team, supporting the purpose and objectives set out within the Assurance framework and operating model using Tools (technology) and Data as part of Santander’s first line of defence
  • Bringing the Strategic Blueprint alive by building solid foundations and radically simplifying Management Information reporting
  • Using data and analytics to proactively identify opportunities, in addition to incoming requests from stakeholders, to improve the service provided to our stakeholders and customers.
  • Making sure information provided to stakeholders is fit for purpose, raise any concerns with the data owners and key stakeholders to maintain consistency and accuracy
  • Working in close collaboration with peers across Customer Outcomes & Testing as well as business partners in the wider bank as needed

Professional Experience:


  • An understanding of the Regulatory Environment, Consumer Duty and Conduct Assurance (Required)
  • Experience of working with data, including assessing completeness, accuracy, and integrity of data (Required)
  • Experience working within risk, assurance or controls functions, ideally in a regulated financial services environment (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Consumer Duty, customer outcomes and outcome testing, and how data supports regulatory assurance and reporting (Preferred)


Education:


  • Ongoing professional development in data quality, analytics, regulatory reporting or assurance practices (Required)
  • Relevant experience in data, analytics, information management, risk or assurance, with formal qualifications (Preferred)
  • Degree educated (Preferred)
  • Training or practical experience in data governance, data quality, risk or controls (Preferred)


Hard Skills:


  • Experience interrogating, automating, and validating large, complex datasets using SAS, SQL, and/or Snowflake (Required)
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel including Power Query (Required)
  • Experience working with data visualisation or reporting tools such as Power BI (Preferred)
  • Experience of using the Python programming language (Preferred)


Soft Skills:


  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to identify quality issues, risks and inconsistencies (Required)
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex concepts (Required)
  • Meticulous attention to detail (Required)
  • Ability to simply and robustly document processes (Preferred)

Salary Range:
£55,167.00 - £82,751.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
