IT STARTS HERE
Santander is evolving from a global, high-impact brand into a technology-driven organisation, and our people are at the heart of that journey. Business Solutions CIO sits at the centre of that change, bringing together global solutions, governance and leadership rhythm so that the directorate can operate with clarity, consistency and control.
This role sits within the Business Support TOM and is designed to help move the team from activity-led support to a scalable enablement model. It provides the governance-led domain interlock that keeps commitments visible, escalates issues early and supports Business Solutions CIO to move as one team.
THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Technology and Operations (Business Solutions CIO) is looking for a Business Support Governance Manager based out of Milton Keynes. As the Business Support Governance Manager, you will be at the heart of making "better" happen across Business Solutions CIO. You will create a clear governance rhythm for the directorate, connecting divisional leads, technology leads and other key stakeholders so that priorities, actions, risks and dependencies are visible and followed through. You will help shape a single, consistent Business Support service by coordinating strategic implementation activity, maintaining the divisional governance register and ensuring that leadership forums have the right information at the right time.
- Create one operating rhythm for leadership governance, including forward agendas, pack discipline, action/decision logs and commitment tracking.
- Support strategic implementation across Business Solutions CIO by coordinating documentation, tracking dependencies and surfacing open concerns to accountable owners.
- Maintain a clear divisional governance register and a high-quality record of commitments, escalations and decision rights.
- Support monthly delivery and performance reporting consistency, helping leaders see one trusted version of the truth.
- Partner with the colleague-experience colleague and the risk/control practitioner to ensure the wider Business Support service works as one integrated team.
- Use structure, influence and good judgement to reduce duplication, improve visibility and help the leadership team make timely decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Our people are our greatest strength. For this role we are looking for someone who combines strong business management capability with the confidence to work across leadership teams, bring structure to ambiguity and keep multiple priorities moving in a fast-paced environment.
Professional Experience
- Strong experience in financial services, with good understanding of Santander, its products, governance and the way Technology & Operations operates.
- Experience in business management, leadership governance, PMO, transformation, operating model support or executive office coordination.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work confidently with senior leaders, divisional leads and transversal partners.
- Proven ability to manage multiple demands, prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise PowerPoint, briefing notes, action trackers and executive packs.
- Comfortable working without direct line authority, using influence, coordination and follow-through to get things done.
Education
Education at graduate level or equivalent experience in business administration, technology, finance, change, governance or a related discipline is preferred. Qualifications in project management, business analysis, governance, change management or Agile/delivery methods would be an advantage, but are not essential.
