Banco Santander México is looking for a Director of Investment Banking for Companies in Puebla.
Objective of the Position: Direct the commercial strategy and design high sophistication investment solutions for the Corporate Banking portfolio. Leading the consultative relationship with high-level corporate clients (C-Level) to maximise capture and profitability.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
- Establish follow-up processes and specialised attention that increase the business of Credit Markets, Equity, and Structured Trade products for the BEI segment, according to established policies and the needs of the Regional team.
- Increase the client base for Investment Banking by prospecting new transactions, analysing and identifying their financial needs under structures such as: Project Finance, Acquisition Finance, Syndicated Loans, Mergers and Acquisitions, Structured Trade Finance, Debt and Capital Markets, generating synergy with the Regional Director and the Zonal Directors of Corporate Banking and Institutions in the Region.
- Coordinate cross-selling functions seeking greater engagement with clients supported by the BEI, participating in meetings between the Regional Director and the Zonal Directors and clients for the origination, structuring, and execution of operations with the aforementioned products to ensure the achievement of set objectives.
- Address the needs of BEI clients through coordination and assistance between the commercial teams of the BEI and the product teams of GCB.
- Increase income and number of structured operations under criteria of profitability, conservative risk, and low capital and reserve usage.
- Lead the commercial investment strategy, accompanying the network in negotiations and closures of high-relevance corporate and institutional accounts.
- Provide consultative advice to top-tier corporate clients (CFOs, Treasurers, General Directors).
- Design tailored financial products, with a strong focus on structuring structured notes and optimising financial instruments.
- Monitor market risks and actively manage portfolios, closely collaborating with the Asset Management area and trading desks to anticipate volatilities.
- Drive the placement of sophisticated products, commercially leading the sale of structured notes, derivatives, and advanced portfolios through a solid understanding of interest rate variables and financial instruments.
- Ensure a comprehensive view of the client, connecting the analysis of their financial statements and credits with investment solutions that add real value to their balance sheet.
- Be the strategic bridge between the commercial network and the Asset Management areas.
- Structure and execute advanced investment strategies for corporate and institutional treasuries.
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar positions.
- Bachelor's degree or MBA in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Knowledge of the market.
- Leadership of Influence: Ability to generate synergies and motivate the commercial network towards achieving common goals.
- Current AMIB Figure 3 certification (desirable).
- Proven experience negotiating with C-Level profiles (CFOs, CEOs, Corporate Treasurers) and a strong focus on meeting capture goals.
