THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE


The Real Estate Finance team in Corporate & Commercial Banking is looking for a Relationship Manager based out of London.


As a Relationship Manager, you will support two Relationship Directors, alongside an existing Relationship Manager, with the day-to-day management of a portfolio of clients which includes lending relationships typically provided to larger sponsors (many of which are PLC’s listed on the FTSE 250) and on both a secured and unsecured basis. The combined portfolios currently have committed lending facilities of c£1.7bn. You will be expected to demonstrate a client focused approach to deliver day to day operational solutions for existing and new clients, working collaboratively with other areas of San UK to achieve this. You will also assist in liaising with the Corporate & Investment Bank’s teams to provide a Group wide holistic service offering to the clients where appropriate. Key roles and responsibilities will include:


· Promoting and encourages good culture and behaviours personally and across the Team, in line with I AM Risk.

· Assisting your immediate and wider team in achieving their financial objectives / goals in line with Corporate & Commercial Banking’s growth targets.

· Identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks, taking proactive personal responsibility for ‘doing the right thing’ in compliance with regulatory requirements and our frameworks and policies.


Supporting the bank in meeting its business, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Financial Crime Compliance. Including identifying, deterring, detecting, and disrupting money laundering, sanctions non-compliance, terrorist financing, bribery, corruption, and tax evasion risks that arise by way of its activities.


We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:


  • Preparing, and assisting, two Senior Relationship Directors with all aspects of credit applications for existing clients and new to bank prospects in line with credit policy and procedures.
  • Giving support to two Senior Relationship Directors with the management and monitoring of their client portfolios including daily account excesses, timely receipt of financial info, annual review process, covenant monitoring and flagging potential risks.
  • Adapting an agile approach, constructively challenging and suggesting improvements for processes and systems.
  • Working alongside another S2 Relationship Manager.

Professional Experience:


• Knowledge of legal aspects related to Corporate and Commercial clients (legal entities, security, valuations, facility documentation) (Required)

• Understanding of key accounting principles and ability to undertake analysis of property company accounts (Required)

• Understands Anti-Money Laundering requirements related to Corporate Clients (Preferred)

• Understands the key nCino processes applicable to the job role (Preferred)

• Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Office 365 (Preferred)

• Understands the process flow for lending Transactions (Preferred)

• Understands corporate credit risk and risk rating models including IPRE, CCT and GCM (Preferred)

• Knowledge and understanding of the key economic variables and regulatory issues which have an impact on the different commercial and residential real estate sectors (Preferred)

Education:


• University level degree or equivalent (Preferred)


Hard Skills:


  • A good understanding of financial accounting standards and accuracy in analysis and interpretation of data (Required)
  • Understanding of Banking products (Preferred)
  • AML/KYC/KYB awareness (Preferred)
  • Familiar with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) (Preferred)
  • Data and tech savvy including use of AI tools (Preferred)
  • Professional / university level qualification/s which assist with a good understanding of economic fundamentals and business performance variables (Preferred)

Salary Range:
£45,008.00 - £67,512.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
