Santander UK is looking for a Finance manager based out of Milton Keynes or London.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager in the Pricing Profitability & FTP Team. As part of the role you’ll be involved with how the bank manages day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and providing strategic financial insight to all levels of management.

The role holder will need to deliver both operational and strategic activities requiring a blend of technical expertise, to navigate the complexities of the financial sector.

As part of the wider team, you’ll be involved in a wide range of analytical work proving insight helping to shape the bank’s strategy.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecast financial performance, and analyse financial data.

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including those related to banking and taxation.

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.

  • Manage the bank's cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operations and investments.

  • Facilitate the development of the bank's long-term financial goals and strategies.

  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant.

Professional Experience:

  • Experience of accounting knowledge/principles, financial regulations, reporting standards, and best practices (Required)

  • Experience in using analytical tools (such as Excel) to analyse data, identify trends, and draw conclusions (Required)

  • Experience & knowledge of banking systems, ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and other relevant tools (Required)

  • Substantial demonstrable supervisory skills to lead, motivate, and develop teams (Required)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in a quantitative field like accounting or finance. Or substantial evidenced and relevant work experience supported by (or working towards) professional certification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)

Skills:

  • Proven ability to problem solve, interpret and evaluate information to make authoritative recommendations (Required)

  • Substantial demonstrable written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and internal/external stakeholders including senior management, external regulators and auditors (Required)

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple and conflicting priorities (Required)
