This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Software Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes. As the Software Engineer in Test – Mobile Automation, you will have autonomy to build a revolutionising automation framework using JavaScript, WebDriver IO, and Appium. You will contribute to the technical design, testing, implementation, and delivery of mobile applications using continuous delivery and agile best practices.
Responsibilities
- Managing quality of the software product by implementing effective testing strategies, processes, and tools to reduce defects and enhance customer satisfaction
- Delivering automation suites efficiently on time by coordinating and controlling dependencies and timelines
- Producing detailed certification and project reports to consolidate current project status
- Supporting the team to brainstorm effective solutions when problems arise
- Working with Development, QA engineers and business analysts to ensure the agreed solution is built, tested, and implemented to the highest standards
What you’ll bring (Qualifications)
- Experience designing and developing Java/JavaScript, Selenium/WebDriver IO test automation frameworks that meet project requirements
- Familiar with latest tools and technologies for test automation and selecting the most appropriate ones for the project
- Experience on both Android or iOS platforms for mobile native application automation
- Expertise in defining the automation strategy for the project, including scope, level, and types of tests to automate
- Experience liaising with developers and testers to integrate automation into the development process to achieve CI/CD
- Ability to develop scripts using JavaScript, NodeJS, WebDriver IO / Selenium, Jest, Cucumber
Nice to have
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, including GitHub Actions workflows
- AWS or other cloud certifications
- Experience in non-functional testing (preferably performance testing)

- Hybrid working pattern with site-based contracts; expected attendance in office at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles)
- Consider travelling distance, time, and cost from home to the office
