This role performs processes and controls within the scope of the operations team, which primarily involves the oversight of a number of third-party suppliers who provide services across fund accounting, middle office, custody and transfer agency for UK OEICs and unit trusts. The team is also responsible for a number of internal processes including invoice review, client service reporting, regulatory reporting and incident and risk management reporting. You will provide support to the wider business on all operational aspects of product change, overseeing the third-party suppliers to ensure projects are delivered in a timely and controlled manner.
The difference you'll make:
- Ensuring the delivery and accuracy of the daily NAV and associated dealing activity:
- NAV oversight controls
- Timely resolution of NAV related queries/issues
- Swing factor and swing basis review
- Fair value pricing (FVP) events & oversight
- Estimated and confirmed dealing review including monitoring large deals.
- Cash & stock reconciliations
- Completing key CASS activities: reviewing daily client money reconciliations, CASS RP, CASS QA Testing, Internal and external audit management and general adherence to the CASS oversight model
- Overseeing and filing of interim and annual financial statements.
- Liaise with external auditor to ensure timely resolution of queries
- Liaise internally to collate required data, i.e. performance figures, investment commentary
- Ensure necessary controls are performed ahead of sharing with ACD committee for sign off
- Completion of other Operations activities including, but not limited to:
- Oversight and supporting the trade life cycle through matching and settlement.
- Corporate actions processing
- Margins payments
- Invoice review and payment processing
- Complaint handling ensuring regulatory obligations including those around timelines are met.
- Oversight of the AML & KYC process for client onboarding and AML refresh events.
- Calculation and payment of fund distributions
- Fund expense monitoring (OCF & transaction costs)
- Management of the rebate process
- WHT reclaims & completion of relevant tax documentation
What you'll bring:
- Extensive prior working experience with NAV (Net Asset Value)
- Understanding of relevant regulations such as: CASS, COBS, COLL Sourcebook, GDPR and SORP
- Excellent organisational skills to ensure work schedules are adhered to and that all reporting tasks are tracked and completed in a timely and accurate manner with the ability to prioritise accordingly
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with a pro-active and professional attitude to work
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Team player who has the capability to build good relationships both internally and externally including comfortability around liaising with senior management
- Experience of involvement with projects including fund changes - closures, mergers
- Market vendors system knowledge (Bloomberg, Reuters etc)
- Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), or equivalent modules
- Professional Accounting Qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
What else you need to know:
This role is based in Glasgow. We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our end clients and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles) including attending every Monday and Thursday.
