We're looking for an Executive Director, Emerging Markets FX Sales, to join the Institutional Sales team. We're shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration, and the freedom to explore new ideas.
The difference you'll make:
- Building, developing and managing senior relationships with UK-based institutional investors, including Real Money, Hedge Funds, Banks, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
- Originating and distributing FX products across spot, NDFs, forwards, and FX options, with a focus on Emerging Markets and selected G10 currencies.
- Demonstrating expert knowledge of FX options, associated risks, and relevant hedging applications for institutional investors.
- Providing clients with timely market updates, macroeconomic commentary, and actionable trade ideas tailored to their investment objectives.
- Proactively engaging with institutional investors to discuss global markets, macro themes, and portfolio-relevant opportunities.
- Collaborating with trading desks to structure and deliver tailored hedging and investment solutions.
- Partnering with Trading, Desk Strategists, and Sales teams across Global Markets to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Identifying new business and cross-selling opportunities across the Santander CIB platform to drive revenue growth.
- Contributing to the continued growth of Santander CIB's FX franchise, with a particular focus on LATAM and selected G10 markets.
- Supporting the development of junior team members and acting as a senior point of reference within the desk.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in institutional sales within FX, Macro, or Global Markets, with a demonstrated ability to build client relationships and drive revenue.
- Exceptional knowledge of Emerging Markets and G10 FX products, including spot, NDFs, forwards, and vanilla options, as well as a clear understanding of associated risks.
- Proven track record of building long-term relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and consistently striving to exceed client expectations.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence sophisticated institutional clients and work effectively with other teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Experience covering institutional investors such as Real Money accounts, Hedge Funds, Banks, and Sovereign Wealth Funds, with the ability to translate market views into client solutions.
- Understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including FCA certification expectations, or the ability to obtain the relevant certification if required.
- CISI Regulatory Module, CISI Securities Module, CISI Derivatives Module, or equivalent market certification.
- Degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Additional European language skills, particularly Spanish.

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus. We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don't contribute yourself. We'll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer. 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5 years service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
